South Carolina Balls honoring the War of Southern Independence

These balls are typically formal affairs with most participants wearing either military or civilian period attire. These events are not sponsored by Camp 36, but the links are provided as a service to our members. In addition, many reenactments have dances as part of the reenactment activities.

Firing on Fort Sumter Ball, Spartanburg

The 2012 ball will be held on April 28, 2012, at the American Legion Hall in Spartanburg.

Charleston/Beaufort Ball

This ball rotates every other year between Charleston and Beaufort. This year the ball will be in Beaufort during the fall.

Olde South Thanksgiving Ball, Abbeville

This ball is held annually in Abbeville as part of the Olde South Thanksgiving celebration. The ball will be held on November 17, 2012.


Olde South Christmas Ball, Greenville

This ball is held annually in Greenville. The ball will be held in the Marriott hotel on December 15, 2012. The ball includes a full southern supper, dancing and a silent auction.
